SPE 2003 - Miladinov Brothers Award

Eftim Kletnikov
was born in 1946, Negrevo (Malesevo), the Republic of
Macedonia. A poet, essayist, critic and translator. He
studied literature at Sts. Cyril and Methodius University,
Skopje. After his graduation he worked as a journalist
and editor of various literary magazines. His first book
of poetry, Blue Whirlpool, was published in 1977.
So far he has published a dozen of poetry collections
and has received the SPE "Miladinov Brothers" Award
for his book The Eye of the Dark One in 1980. Selections
of his poetry have been translated in various languages
like Serbian, Albanian, English, French, Russian, etc.
He translates from Russian, French, Serbian, Croatian,
and Slovenian. He has edited several anthologies of Macedonian
poetry.
This year he won the SPE
"Miladinov Brothers" Award again, for his book The
Living Stone.
